More likely people with the game sitting in their wishlist are just waiting for a sale.ĭunuvo isn't going anywhere as standard practice for games released on PC in the near future. But I also don't think there's a large contingent of people sitting around waiting for Denuvo to get removed just so they can then go pirate the game. There's little to no incentive for a publisher to advertise that it was removed unless Denuvo actively deters a significant amount of sales. I'm sure someone much smarter and well paid than me ran out the numbers on these situations and the result was that not broadcasting is better.Ĭlick to shrink. For sure. Doing it silently means anyone still interested in pirating those games has to be following forums that would inform them about this. On the other hand, not informing about removing denuvo makes the info for pirates a bit more fuzzy, as it becomes much harder for someone to say, start compiling up how long each company takes to remove denuvo from their games.Īlso, you know, maybe some would-be pirates still have the game wishlisted and would get the newsfeed about an update, then checking the update instantly informs them the game is now pirateable I'm not sure about how big of a deal this could be, but it's an example of a downside for making it a more official post. I can safely guess that the number of people that care and know about denuvo and that would purchase the game but won't because it has it is.significantly low.
